AUTHOR: TREVOR BROWN
Fuego Coffee Roasting Co. is an extension of Fuego Brew Co. always moving forward, the brewery has branched into another realm of flavors to heighten your senses. The arrival of a coffee roaster, the only coffee roaster on the Costa Ballena, now produces multiple varieties of single-source Costa Rican coffee.
Drink coffee is a daily ritual to most, an essential commodity in any home and another form of agriculture Costa Rica can be proud of. Amongst others, regions like Terrazu and Dota produce coffee that is known internationally to any connoisseur. However, much of this coffee is exported, and a majority of the coffee consumed in Costa Rica is commercial coffee.
For years the artesian methods of the coffee culture were smothered by demand for coffee strains yielding more product. Fortunately, times are again changing, and the traditional methods of the artisan are resurfacing in a movement called “Third Wave Coffee.” Now in Dominical Fuego Coffee Roasting Co. has a coffee roaster backed with professional baristas serving top quality fresh houseroasted coffee!
Maintaining a standard for excellence, coffee farms are carefully selected by Coffee Roasting Co. within the regions of Terrazu and Dota. With a plethora of coffee-based drinks and espressos, the crew of baristas have not only mastered the art of presentation but also have a vast knowledge of the coffee plant’s life-cycle and stages it takes before it reaches your cup. Both modern and traditional methods of coffee brewing are used with vessels such as the Vandola, the Chemex, and Syphone, allowing you to experience tastes you never knew coffee could have.
At 7 am, the restaurant opens for breakfast at Fuego in Dominical, and the aromatic aroma of the coffee fills the air. Don’t be surprised if you walk in during a morning roast! If you miss the morning, the cafe is open until 9 pm. The possibilities seem limitless at Fuego Brew Co., progressing into another year filled with entertainment and surprises.
