South Pacific Costa Rica Magazine and Travel Guide, Issue #69
Dear Reader,
Sports-Adventure–Solidarity is the motto of La Saharienne, and Puerto Cortés will be its headquarters. In a few weeks, we will be receiving French athletes ready to compete in the South Pacific of Costa Rica. The organizers arrived in advance and prepared the routes along the trails, fields, beaches, and waterways. They are delighted with the hospitality of people, landscapes, flora, and fauna. The South Pacific and Ballena Tales welcome the international press and visitors!
During the year 2019, the Ballena Tales team has had an intense activity and has traveled to San José, Quepos, Jaco, Herradura, San Isidro, Cortés, Sierpe, Palmar, Boruca, Curré, Golfito, Puerto Jiménez, Drake Bay, the Golfo Dulce, and the Corcovado National Park. We know our destination very well, and thanks to our advertisers and reliable sources, we inform visitors, residents, and investors about what is happening here. We are present, contact, investigate, report, and connect interests. Ballena Tales’s mission is to promote the South Pacific of Costa Rica. A destination that stands out for its strength for environmental protection initiatives.
Remember the “Osa Free of Plastic” campaign? The idea was born in the small town of Bahia and fortuitously presented to the United Nations Organization in Nairobi. It grew and intertwined with other groups throughout Costa Rica. This year the initiative celebrates its second anniversary.
Thanks to its attractions and human quality, the Canton of Osa is becoming a preferred destination for travelers who love nature and the “pura vida.”
We are saying goodbye to a great pioneer who was Don Waldemar Steiner, founder of the Cristal Ballena Hotel. Many years ago, he was president of the Chamber of Tourism. In 2007, together with the then Minister of Tourism, Carlos Benavides, they baptized the area of Dominical, Uvita, and Ojochal as Costa Ballena.
