Ballena Tales #84, South Pacific of Costa Rica Free Magazine
Dear reader,
In the South Pacific, winter has begun. Winter means the beginning of the rains; temperatures drop to a very pleasant 24° in the evenings and to a chilly 20° at dawn. There are fewer visitors. People distrust the story that the coming months are the most beautiful of the year. Take advantage of the sunny mornings and retreat to your four walls in the afternoons! Be careful on the roads; if one of these good downpours falls, it is better to stop and wait until the intensity drops and then continue.
May is the month of regeneration: the refreshing rain puts nature to shine, the vegetation could not get any greener, dotted here and there with brightly colored flowers. Along the highway from San Isidro to Ojochal, the splendid flowers of the maypole adorn the canopy of the hills and mountains. We experience an explosion of life.
On your way to the coast, you will pass through the picturesque town of Tinamaste. Pause at the new restaurant VIEW, taste dishes from five world regions, and enjoy an exquisite coffee with a dessert.
In Dominical, once again, hundreds of spectators and sports fans gathered to witness the 10th Semana Santa Surfing Competition. The spirits were high and the waves no less.
We interviewed Keyna AC, the enterprising co-founder of the Dominical Eco Feria. She admits that children and regenerative agriculture are the engines that drive her.
Young healer Ignacio Guerrero shares how subtle Craniosacral Therapy can relieve your stress and make you feel light. Brad Dean introduces the Osa Guardians, who he says are among us. What do you think?
Flavio Güell from the Innoceana Institute in Ojochal shares his article “You Reap What You Sow” - how right he is with this!

And Captain Willy Atencio greets us from the beautiful Drake Bay, where you could spend a weekend fishing and recovering energy immersed in nature, far from highways and cities.
We know the South Pacific and invite you to visit Enjoy Osa. You will find a wide range of tours carefully chosen for your enjoyment. We are at his service to answer your questions.
Happy winter in paradise, and please take care of it; it is one of the few we have left!
Yours
