Pancito Café now at Plaza Ventanas
AUTHOR: Dagmar Reinhard
In 2010, the history of Pancito Café began in Plaza Los Delfines at the entrance to Ojochal. Urged for more space to prepare their sweet and savory delicatessen, they recently opened their new facilities in the Plaza Ventanas Shopping Center, just 4 km north of Ojochal. They have a large kitchen and a laboratory.

Early in the morning, Pancito Café tempts neighbors and passers-by with delicious aromas that emanate from the place, the smell of fresh bread, croissants, and freshly brewed coffee. You can taste croissants, French pastries, a full breakfast with eggs and toast, and the lunch menu shows sandwiches, salads, and French specialties. They recently added Croissant with Brie Cheese, Prosciutto with Caramelized Onions, Ratatouille Sandwich with Goat Cheese, and Olive Oil.
Fiber optic Wi-Fi is available on the comfortable outdoor terrace and the relaxed local inside. Pancito Cafe is famous and has become a meeting place. They speak French, Spanish, and English.

The owners of the well-known cafe, restaurant, and bakery Philippe & Mireille, comment: With mixed emotions and beautiful memories, we have turned the page and continue with this great announcement! We thank everyone for their support and love since 2010. It would not have been possible without the support of our friends and loyal customers. We hope to greet you very soon!
And for those who don't know Philippe yet: He learned the baker's trade in the '70s with his father. He had a family business in Lorraine in the East of France. He studied at a business school and later taught management classes. In 1985 he went to the United States, where he resumed his profession as a pastry chef and worked in New York and Boston kitchens. Upon returning to France, he married Mireille, and they both opened their pastry shop in Montpellier (southern France), which they had for 20 years.
The desire to travel and live new adventures brought them to Costa Rica for their latest project. After several trips to this tropical country, they fell in love with Ojochal.
You will feel very relaxed thanks to the pleasant atmosphere, the kind attention and above all the exquisite food. Welcome to Mireille and Phiippe's Pancito Café! Open every day from 7 am to 6 pm.
Welcome, bienvenido, bienvenue!
