The Costa Rican Telethon is held the first weekend in December, and is an uninterrupted 27 hour television program, transmitted by almost all television networks in the country. The funds raised are used for the maintenance of areas of the National Children’s Hospital or other medical centers in Costa Rica.

This year’s Osa Mini Telethon aims to provide the Cortes Hospital with an incubator for the transport of new borns which is a very expensive high tech medical equipment.

On December 5th and 6th the communities of Palmar, Ciudad Cortés and Uvita which belong to the Canton of Osa will support the event to be held in a festive atmosphere with booths and live music in front of the BM supermarket in Uvita.  The well-known local group Los Geckos will play reggae and rock.
