Braid Your Inner Light - Connect With Your Power

My name is Grettel Castro. I have lived in Costa Ballena for eight years, and what inspires me to live in this area is its nature; it transmits so much Peace and desire to enjoy life. My Sun Braids project was born here, inspired by the Light of the South Pacific. While I braid your hair, we connect with the light we all carry inside; it is an empowerment ritual. I love braiding the hair of all my clients; it is a passion and an honor to be able to share the experience with each one of them.

I feel glad for everyone I have met during this year of entrepreneurship and all the people I am sure I will meet in the future.

Braiding is a talent that developed very naturally. I remember braiding my hair and my family's since I was a child. I do all hair types, from the straightest to the Afro hair type, with natural hair and also with extensions. I use special products that protect the hair and ensure that the hairstyle lasts longer. Anyone can have their hair braided: Men, women, and children.

The final product, according to the style, last at least a week. I even have surfer clients who say that it has resisted for up to two weeks of daily surfing. With proper care, African braids with extensions can last from one to three months. Natural hair is braided inside the extensions, protecting it from ultraviolet rays. This style also stimulates hair growth and protects it while it grows. I love braiding my hair in this style because it gives me practicality. It is a blessing to wake up with my hair ready to enjoy my day, and I love that I have my hair done at all times.

The braids are a super fashionable trend. They range from the most urban, casual, festival style to the most elegant and refined. You can wear them on all occasions, and with all kinds of attire. They are also great to wear to a photo shoot. My clients love that they can always go out with a different hairstyle, and look spectacular and unique! There are many ways to wear them decorated with accessories and colors. An advantage is that you can add colors with extensions while your hair is healthy and protected; thus, you can change the colors in each hairstyle.

I love the multicultural richness of Uvita and its artistic spaces. By the way, I work in Bahía Ballena at M&Y Design Interior where we offer a wide variety of interior decoration art.

I also do home visits. I have worked in special events such as electronic music festivals in San José, and at Selva Armonía, braiding and applying artistic makeup. I have braided at birthday parties (I call them braiding parties). Recently I participated in braiding and doing makeup at the First Multicultural Festival that recently took place in Bahía Ballena.
