The frog was regarded by the ancients Bruncas as a fertility symbol and death symbol. Today, it is a highly respected amphibian for its powerful poison. It is admired for its spectacular beauty and size. The frog has served as an inspiration for the new Bruncan artists, who create masks and other pieces of art using the images of the multiple frog species surrounding them. Moreover, it has helped by sending the message to protect and care for this endangered species. In our language, frog means “Huen” but this painting is called “Tabayen di” which means “the song of the river.”
