Ballena Tales #86, South Pacific of Costa Rica Free Digital Magazine
Dear Reader
Welcome again to more good news from Costa Ballena. This green strip of land touching the Pacific Ocean is finally being discovered; it was one of the last hidden secrets. For the last fourteen years, Ballena Tales Magazine has published tales about the amazing Costa
Ballena.
Costa Ballena is a lush stretch of land bordering the untamed beaches of the South Pacific Ocean. You are up to the first impressive views crossing the bridge over the majestic Barú River at the intersection of Quepos and San Isidro to the mountainside. Festive Dominical, with its long-stretched sandy beaches and waves excellent for surfing, is the gateway to Costa Ballena. On our way South, we take a few minutes to visit the new Teslito School in Dominicalito is a great community project.
Our next stop is the open-to-public nFusion Restaurant at the Villas Alturas Hotel, going up the San Martin Norte Road, a scenic drive leading you to the top of the mountain. Have your refreshing beverage and order what Chef Mayron has on offer today; exquisite vegan and vegetarian menus are also available. And until the food arrives, enjoy the view! It is one of the most beautiful along the coast.
Uvita, only 10 km down South on the Costanera Highway, is the region's capital, where you find businesses, services, and fantastic investment projects. Here networks are being developed for charging electric vehicles in collaboration between ICE and the Chamber of Tourism, the Development Association, the Municipality of Osa, and tourist establishments.
We met Sensei Sunshine at Le French Café on the way to the National Marine Ballena Park. This energetic lady irradiates incredible personal power and gives Dynamic Circle Hapkido classes.

Ojochal, this “nouveau art” town in a large jungle park, awaits us! Meet the professional Birdwatcher Jose Vargas, who shares his discovery of a new bird species not yet registered in Costa Rica. MCEC Innoceana, the Marine Conservation and Education Center in Ojochal, alerts us about the Red Tides in our oceans.
Owner of Recherché Blake Sawyer is giving us his prognostic of the future of Osa, and according to their objectives, the environmental organization Osa Vive points out how to protect our paradise.
Hoping that Ballena Tales Magazine might give you a better insight. We hope you enjoy it!
