The South Pacific is blessed with the following spots, mostly beach breaks:
Pavones – Zancudo – Cabo Matapalo – Playa Ballena – Playa Colonia – Playa Hermosa – Punta Dominical and Playa Dominical.
The locals of the beaches mentioned above, are getting together to create the South Pacific Association of Surfing, where the main goals are to encourage the Costa Ricans to surf, and at the same time, promote tourism among those seeking waves and beautiful beaches.
Along the route, there are tourist information centers, which provide information on how to get to each of those beaches (also see the maps in Ballena Tales Magazine).
