Third Anniversary Party of Ballena Tales 2011 – Uvita – Photo Robert Rodgers
In three years our Ballena Tales magazine has positioned itself on the market. We celebrated this event with a Fiesta. Georg Kiechl of Papa Kilo – Ultralight Uvita – very generously leant us his facilities. Sunday, July 24th, was a sunny day and some two hundred guests (amongst customers, pioneers, artists and friends of Ballena Tales) came to spend some time with us.
Everything was well planned, good food and drinks, great music, face painting for children, dance performances by the Uvita High School performers and the San Josecito Dance Group, and of course the aircrafts. People from San José and San Isidro brought their model airplanes which rose into the blue sky and Georg took off several times with his superb Ultralights to fly over the nearby Ballena Marine National Park.
And sometimes people wonder why I like living here? Because of the smiles and innate kindness of the people, the closeness to the beach and the mountains with rivers and waterfalls — we truly have it all! Pure laughter, pura vida!
The auction for the project “Let´s get El Flaco into his boat” raised $ 470. This money will be used (supervised by Ballena Tales) to build a light boat for the sale of ice cones – which will be a colorful and picturesque tourist attraction.
