10 years of Envision: Leave No Trace!
AUTHORS: Andrés Vargas Araya and Luigi Jimenez
“We all are affecting the world every moment, whether we mean to or not. Our actions and states of mind matter, because we are so deeply interconnected with one another.”
Ram Dass
At the Envision Festival we strive to showcase that there are many ways to enjoy and live our lives consciously and connected to our surrounding environment.
The last ten years have been a beautiful path to a perception of how we fit into the most significant ecosystems in our environment.
Congruent with the philosophy of the event “Leave no Trace”, we established the 'Somos - We are the Change Foundation', to support initiatives in our community and country that motivate change, generating a lasting social, environmental and economic impact.
The Envision Festival has collaborated with Federico Gutiérrez (one of the founding members of Costas Verdes) to plant more than 65,000 native trees along the Pacific Coast.
In recent years, our beach cleaning programs, which take place not only after the annual Envision Festival, has been an inspiration to many people and organizations in Costa Rica.
For our 10th anniversary celebration, we are increasing our beach cleaning initiatives nationwide, for which ten Costa Rican organizations are being invited to participate.
Over the past year, more than 3 tons of trash, washed up by the ocean, were collected along 40 kilometers of the Pacific coast beaches. Our goal is to collect as much trash as possible and raise awareness in our country; long after each year’s Envision Festival.”
During the last decade, Envision has increased the action to minimize its footprint in the surroundings of the headquarters in Uvita, Osa, Costa Rica, putting into practice the perception of how we fit into our environment.
We invite you to join us in this inspiration to achieve the change you want for the planet.
