About the author: Naïka Gabriel is an Evolutionary Astrologer, Project Manager, Writer, and amateur Herbalist. Since 13 years old, Naïka has delved into astrology's mystery and science of astrology and sought to share its gifts and benefits. Naika is forever touched by the beauty of Uvita and the ease at which she can see the stars.

For thousands of years, individuals throughout time mapped out and explored the effect the presence of planets has on us. Today, we continue to revel in the mystery, intrigue, and majesty of these heavenly bodies just as they did thousands of years ago, hoping to create and understand some meaning behind their existence as they help us to understand the importance of our own.
Astrology, or the study of the positions and movement of the planets and their influence on humanity, has long been used to understand the human psyche, guide leaders, and assist farmers. It was considered a science along with astronomy and revered by the likes of Plato, Aristotle, and Carl Jung. There are many types of astrology, from Vedic to Mayan, to Western to Chinese. Each type of astrology has its unique perception, interpretation, and application of the impact of the planets on our lives. I practice Evolutionary Astrology, for example.
You might wonder, why is astrology relevant? What use could it be knowing when the New Moon is? Or what does it matter that Mercury is retrograde? Or that your partner is a Leo sun with a Gemini Rising? These are good and valid questions. We will explore these questions in the coming editions, so please share your astrology questions with us!

Astrology inspires us to expand beyond our everyday lives and connect to the world and universe. It reminds us that we are not alone. Each chart is a blueprint of where the planets were when you were born and can provide insights and a deeper understanding of who we are, our gifts, and how to more easily navigate the world, challenges, and our relationships. Astrology invites us to celebrate humanity and all our unique expressions. It is a gift that reminds us that we are a part of something extraordinary and that we are just that: extraordinary!
In future editions, I will share ways to connect with and understand the planets, their movements, and how to work with them. Until next time, be well, and keep bright! I look forward to connecting with you and am honored to be a liaison between you and these heavenly bodies.
