Legal del Sur Facilítates Legal Procedures Registry of Transparency and Final Beneficiaries
Author: Dagmar Reinhard
Conveniently located at the entrance to Uvita in the building in front of the Bank of Costa Rica, Legal del Sur attends Car Registration, Real Estate, marriage, and residence procedures. It is a Mediation office and also Notary.
Ms. Silvia Zuñiga Mora proudly shares: “I initially travelled to Osa with jobs ready and printed to the homes of companies and people who allowed me to provide them with my legal services. And today, we are celebrating one year since the opening of the Legal del Sur office in Uvita, considered the capital of Costa Ballena. Having a headquarters in the vibrant center was born from the inspiration of giving support to the population of the South Zone.
It started with many dreams, enthusiasm, and anxiety about whether opening a second office would be a good decision. The determining factor was the distance; I travelled a couple of hours from where I live to Osa and two hours to return home. I was also considering that I exercise this noble and responsible profession of Lawyer and Notary, but I am also a wife and mother of two children. How much juggling would I have to do to be able to do it all?
I wanted the office to grow, and today I can say that it has been a good choice. My experience tells me that we can achieve everything we set out to do with a lot of faith, discipline, and perseverance. We have knocked on doors, and many have opened.
Thanks from the bottom of my heart to each of you who entrusted their legal requirements on my shoulders.

REGISTRY OF TRANSPARENCY AND FINAL BENEFICIARIES.
From April 1 to 30, 2022: We are already starting the process of the Declaration of Registration of transparency and final beneficiaries. Objective: The Registry of Transparency and Final Beneficiaries (hereinafter RTBF) is a digitized registry of shareholders and final beneficiaries, including four obligated subjects: Legal Entities, Trusts, Non-Profit Organizations, and Asset Resource Administrators. Third parties.
RTFB consists of a computer system developed by the Central Bank of Costa Rica. It allows legal persons and other legal structures, trusts, administrators of third-party resources in favor of their clients and non-profit organizations to provide the information and register its participants (shareholder partners, quota holders or some other denomination depending on the type of person or legal structure, members, etc.) and final beneficiaries, as well as any relevant information that allows effective control in the fight against tax fraud, money laundering and terrorist financing.
Lic. Silvia: “Is there a face-to-face way to provide the information to the Registry of Transparency and Final Beneficiaries (RTBF)?” Answer: “No, the entire process must be done through a web portal.”
Legal Basis: Second chapter of the Law to Improve the Fight against Tax Fraud, Law No. 9416 Regulation of the Registry of Transparency and Final Beneficiaries, Decree No. 41040-H
