Traditional Celebrations 2013 in Bahía Uvita

Abril-13Fiestas-Civicas-Bahia-Uvita-6We have not seen this type of events in the last 15 years in Bahia.” That was the comment of an enthusiastic neighbor who got together with his friends at a small courtyard under the shade of some old trees. The main attraction was the horse parade, followed by the bull riding, music, and traditional food. Around 4,000 people participated in the festivities, most of them, residents of Costa Ballena.

Uvita Development Association in partnership with Ranchos Arauz, Cortes, El Atardecer, the owner of the bullring, and Eventos Resol, organized the festivities.

A large team of volunteers worked day and night during two months, helping in the organization of this major project, which became a memorable event with a successful completion. It was sponsored by local businesses with the assistance of the Red Cross, police enforcement, and private security. With their help, all the activities had a safe environment were kids, and adults could enjoy these celebrations.
