This place is quite big, well ventilated, has several levels, and is in a very lush garden. There is a lounge, a library, a multipurpose area, and a beautiful bar. You will definitely find your own space to feel at home and enjoy the moment.

The tropical decor is exquisite. 

This is a family restaurant where the dishes are prepared with fresh local products; it has a wide snack menu, empanadas, panini, pasta, and salads. There are special dishes for “our precious sweeties” and vegetarian meals, as well as a varied wine list that can be served per glass, and there are also cocktails, desserts, digestifs, sorbets, coffee, and tea. Ask about the Sud cocktail! The owners, Aurélie and Alex, offer a high-quality service and explain that every dish is made right after you order it. It’s Mediterranean food with a Costa Rican touch; for instance, the brandade (toast with mashed cod) is made with yucca instead of potatoes.

Every week, chef Aurélie offers her own beef and fish specialties.

 This couple has lived in Ojochal for many years, and they have earned their reputation of great cuisine, as friendly hosts, and with lively dancing classes at Coco Lindo. They were joined by Aurélie’s parents; her mom, Luce, is a decorator and chef; Jean Loup, her dad, is an experienced international projects developer. For a long time, this French family lived in the Republic of Congo, in Africa.

Here in Ojochal, they found the best of Africa and Europe. All the facilities of the restaurant and the Oasis de las Palmas Cabins, in the same property, were built by local professionals. By the way, every Tuesday, from 5 pm to 7 pm there are free merengue, bachata, cumbia, and salsa lessons with Alex. Between 7-9 pm, the dancefloor is available and the kitchen is open. Spanish, English, and French are spoken at Sud!
