We met the Costa Rican artist Hannya Buentemeyer at the Farmers Market in Uvita. She traveled from San Jose to attend the talks within the framework of the Festival of the Spheres, which took place at the Municipality of Osa in Cortes.
Through her paintings, Hannya calls for attention to the conservation of stone spheres revered by the Indians.
The artist explained the spheres are the creation of “an advanced, observant, and knowledgeable culture." Hannya paints with great imagination; she immerses the spheres in a vibrant color palette with the purpose of celebrating every aspect of their historical value and the Indigenous culture.
