[singlepic id=1454 w=320 h=240 float=left]Costa Ballena has a wide range of bio and cultural diversity. Living here encourages us to pay more attention to other cultures, challenging us to respect their feelings and ‘modus vivendi’.
It can also be frustrating at times because when we are interacting, we expect to be treated in a certain way, and we tend to focus on it, rather than focus on how we should treat others.
Sometimes, if we share a multicultural space for a while, it seems as if we tend to focus more on our differences rather than our similarities, judging each other because it is easier than trying to understand our thoughts and actions. I like what Mother Teresa said, “Judgment leaves no room for love.” If we concentrate mostly on what we think is wrong with other people, or how they should act, we will create an invisible barrier, and this negative energy will reflect on how we treat them.
We can choose a different route. In nature, all varieties of creatures live in complete harmony. We share the fact that we are humans. We all want to be loved, and our great capacity to love opens up even more once we start noticing the good in each other. We realize that, in essence, we are the same, and we are all connected. Observe the ocean; every wave seems different, but they all belong to something greater, Mother Ocean!
So, I leave you with a piece of advice from Paramhansa Yogananda: “Have only love in your heart for others. The more you see the good in them, the more you will establish the good in yourself.”
