Kuanxa

Invited to the Festival of Lights…

The Sierpe river is also called the seven-headed snake for its many tributaries. Since ancient times it has been a waterway to connect with other native settlements.

The recent Festival of Light (organized by the Sierpe Chamber of Tourism) was attended by hundreds of people who, after nightfall, observed the procession of the beautifully decorated and illuminated boats from the terraces of the restaurants.

As a prelude to the aquatic parade the NON KUANXA cultural group performed an invocation to nature and river Sierpe. All members of the group are from Boruca and were invited and sponsored by Kokopelli Wildlife Tours.
