An artist in harmony with the dream world 

Laguz Lykamo describes himself as “a fantasy artist, inspired by the world of dreams on the other side of the mirror,” and continues "Born on the Moon, I came to Earth to hunt the missing fairies, and I will never be able to return until I find them all." 

Not pleased with his name (Martin) felt like an anchor with reality, disrupting the dream-like sense of his art. He was looking for a different way to sign his pieces. This was when he pulled "Laguz" out of a set of newly acquired Celtic runes. Laguz is the rune of imagination, fantasy and dreams. More so, it was the number 21, literally meaning "water" which was a perfect match, a sign from the Universe, as the artist himself was a Pisces born on the 21 first of February.So he adopted the name of Laguz, and it is this Celtic rune that is teaches him to look beyond your shadow and embrace the dark side as well as the light and thereby grow in fullness and power, with the overwhelming cry of living life! Through art, Laguz Lykamo, the new apprentice found his instrument of manifestation.

Having been practically raised from childhood by fairies, magic and dreams through films such as ”The Dark Crystal", "Fern Gully", "The Never Ending Story", and "Labyrinth" and influenced by the spiritual teachings of Buddhism and Hermeticism. His art is fanciful, light, volatile, representing spiritual gnomes, centaurs, mermaids and fabulous women in search for enlightment in the style of the baroque.

He works with watercolors, inks, pencil, paints with coffee and even makes occasionally tattoo,  using  pastels tones, especially turquoise and fuchsia. If his expressive drawings seem familiar to you it is because Laguz created the logo and arts for Fuego Brew Co. in Dominical, inviting you to ignite your senses!
