Happy Is Healthy, and never underestimate the power of a smile.
by William Wright
Recently I have had to get more serious about being happy. I had been letting too much stuff get to me, even here in paradise, and I was paying the price physically and emotionally.
Tips that may help: Being in good physical shape helps one to feel good psychologically too. Physical conditioning is a key to performance and psychological well-being. Make it fun to make it happen.
Begin with the belief the problem is solvable. Happiness is definitely an inside job, and not dependent on external events, once you “grab the bull by the horns.”
What do you think will happen if you get stubborn about being happy?
Say “no” to stress. Recently a friend, told me, “My secret is, I just don’t do stress. That stuff will kill you. If I can’t do anything, about something, I sure as heck don’t worry about it.” What a guy! Thank you.
A small difference is a real difference. Many times affirming our intention to have a good day, and a few moments of gratitude can carry us through the day. When you get to 51% positive thoughts, miracles happen. Many times the real change needed is only 1 or 2%.
Never underestimate the power of a smile, even one you just made up. Often a small difference, like a trim tab, can turn the whole ship around.
Stay open. When we cocoon or close up for self-protection, we often close ourselves off from the solution we want and the support we need.
What would it do for the quality of your life and health if you could increase your happiness by 5 or 10% for the rest of your existence?
