In August, the community organized a PaintingParty to beautify Bahía Uvita, the little village by the sea, according to the motto, “a beautiful town is a happy town.” It was an excellent opportunity to meet the neighbors and make new friends. Surprised tourists stopped and danced to the music provided by a local DJ.
Special thanks to the artists Bromley Vassell and Freddy Brandon who actively supported the initiative. Freddy from the neighboring town of San Isidro was impressed by the cooperation within the community. He has been working as an artist for the last fourteen years, and found that the initiative was a good example to follow.
Supported by his good friends from lagunas and Escaleras, he started painting professionally in 2000. He loves primary colors because they reflct the beauty of nature. Now he wants to give back to the area which has helped him grow.
“This community has a truly harmonic bond,” he said, “which is very important in the times we are living.” Freddy feels this project has been inspiring neighbors and visitors, and it seems this second Painting Party was a great success for everyone.
More painting parties are planned. Stay tuned!
