Student´s Art Festival in Costa Ballena
The Student Festival of the Arts originates in 1976 with the name Costa Rica Joven, finally be called FEA (Student Festival of the Arts) for its resemblance to the FIA (International Festival of the Arts).
Why this festival?
To enjoy, to appreciate, to understand and to express art, are the four challenges that surround the artistic education. The Student Festival of the Arts is presented as a complementary program to these objectives and challenges aimed at promoting the identity, coexistence, and permanence of students in the Educational System. The main goal is for this initiative to be incorporated with more sense and force in the Educational Centers, in such a way that it transforms the teaching and the life of the students.
Here the Student’s Art Festival includes three stages: institutional, Circuital, and regional, in addition to the national participation. In these encounters, the participants present their artistic skills such as dance, choreography, drawing, theater, and music. The schools of Dominicalito, San Josecito, Bahia, and Uvita College shinned during the recent Circuit No. 4 Festival at Platanillo. The regional encounter in San Isidro is their next step forward.
French photographer Christophe Gstalder, who feels part of the Costa Ballena community, accompanied the students.
