Costa Rica Surf Camp

Surf Camp

Much More than a Surf Camp

Five years ago, Costa Rica Surf Camp changed ownership. Today, it is a family business and Cesar Valverde Ureña is the owner and the head of a team of five surf instructors. Kaitlin is the coordinator and the friendly voice over the phone when you ask for information about the packages offered by the surf camp.

There are packages for individuals and groups going from one day to one week. These packages may include accommodation and private transportation from and to the airport. Of course, all team members speak English.

There are always two hours of classes a day combined with various activities near Dominical. Normally, they only take care of 18 people a week, which allows them to meet one of their goals: provide a personalized service.

In every group, there is always one instructor for every two people.

“My favorite beaches to teach our sport are Dominical, Dominicalito, and Playa Hermosa. These beaches were the playground where I learned to surf at the age of seven. For me, surfing has always been the most beautiful sport, and I love sharing my knowledge with the visitors,” Cesar said.

Everyone can learn to surf, from a four year-old kid to a 70 year-old person; the feeling of accomplishment and victory when you get up on the table for the first time is amazing.
