Become a volunteer and get to know your community, language is not a barrier!

CBWNetLogo1 (3)Volunteering is the most fulfilling activity you can experience in this area. There are incredible projects to choose from.

At the monthly lunch meeting, the Costa Ballena Women’s Network (CBWN) will make a presentation of some of the projects requiring your support. You can volunteer from as little as two hours a month to as many days as you wish, depending on how much you love working as a volunteer.

Lifeguards of Costa Ballena – their purpose is to make Costa Ballena a safer place for residents and visitors. Help raising funds! Contact: Brian Nice.

Playa Tortuga Reserve –a biological research and education center. The turtle reserve needs help! Contact: Oscar Brenes

Forging Wings – their goal is to teach kids several new skills to broaden their horizon. Tell them about your job! Contact: Susana Garcia

CAP on Crime– this organization is advocating for the safety of our neighborhoods.
Neighborhood coordinators are needed. Conatct: Lori Loucas

DAWG Uvita (Domestic Animal Welfare Group) – their mission is to eliminate the abuse and abandonment of domestic animals in Costa Ballena. Help at the local shop or adopt a puppy!  Contact: Shawnell Parker

PRASCOSUR of IBT´s mission: to reduce and mitigate the negative impact of human infrastructures on the connectivity of the Biological Corridor Path of the Tapir, especially on the local fauna. Contact: – Susana García

PRO: promotes further education through scholarships to encourage children and parents to continue education.   Contact: Carolyn Nice

CBWN (Costa Ballena Women’s Network) – Every lunch hosts interesting guest speakers. The board is seeking the collaboration of new members.
