The community of Ojochal, once again, proudly got together to celebrate “The raising of the Blue Flag 2017” on July 28, 2018 at the entrance of our village. The celebration began with the privilege of having the young members of the band from the Escuela Tortuga perform for us, accompanied by their director and teachers.
During the event we presented a retrospective of the activities carried out in 2017, which, permitted us to achieve a grade of 100 % and 3 stars, and reported the activities programmed for 2018. The celebration closed by proudly raising the Blue Flag at the entrance of Ojochal! This is an award for the efforts of the volunteer committee and members of the community who work hard in the pursuit of conservation and development, the protection of natural resources, the implementation of actions to address climate change, the improvement of hygienic sanitary conditions and the public health standards for the benefit of present and future generations of our community.
The Blue Flag Committee would like to thank the owners of La Mona Grita for graciously hosting the event in their beautiful bar and restaurant. Also, we would like to extend our gratitude to the ADI of Ojochal for providing the refreshments and the Reserva Playa Tortuga for the great photos they took of our exciting event. Most of all, we would like to give our thanks to all the members of our community, the different organized groups who work together to reach the goals that our community provides: a clean environment to live in that respects and protects our natural resources, addresses climate change, and works towards the continued public health of our inhabitants.
The Blue Flag Committee continues to work towards our goal of another blue flag for 2018.
