Uvita is a happy community and our Pueblo Alegre Uvita “Paint the Town” project was inspired by a resident’s personal experience with her hometown in Matlacha, Florida. Twenty years ago, Matlacha was a shabby fishing-village with old wooden shacks and rundown buildings. Few outsiders visited this out-of-the-way place.  Residents and the local chamber of commerce got together with a few artists and decided to paint their town. Over the next few years, this beautification painting project transformed Matlacha into a thriving tourist destination, benefiting local businesses, and creating many new jobs.
Here in Costa Ballena, we are surrounded by remarkable natural beauty. Let’s take a hint from Mother Nature and design similar beauty in our own human creations. Paint is an easy and relatively inexpensive way to enhance the beauty of a home or storefront.   We can find inspiration in the eye-candy brilliant blues of the ocean, the infinite greens of the mountains and forests, the vibrant colors of local flora and fauna, and the ever-changing kaleidoscope of colors in the skies and magnificent sunsets.
We can do this together! Let’s create a magical transformation in our community putting a  bright, fresh, and happy coat of paint on our buildings.
