Rafting in Costa Ballena Costa Rica

Rafting in Costa Ballena Costa Rica

“It was my first experience, and somehow I felt a bit scared. Our guides accompanied the group to El Silencio, and then up to the river through the lush countryside where we boarded boats for six people, after putting on helmets and vests; we received precautionary instructions.
After that, the excitement began, 13 km downstream through rapids; we felt, the adrenaline level rise and then, all of a sudden; the river started opening to a wide lake of green water. The views were incredible and along the shores, many exotic birds were having a party. Our knowledgeable bi-lingual guides Luis and Yeudy, who took pictures of us, showed plants to us, some of them, we could smell, and even taste. Approaching noon, we rested at a beautiful waterfall and took a dip, while the guides prepared a delicious snack. On the way back, we played battling with the other boats. It was obvious that our guides knew the river very well.

Returning to El Silencio, a delicious lunch was waiting for us at the lodge.  Thank you all for this unique experience!”
